There were very little times that Magnolia was happy to have a day off. The witch enjoyed her work, especially the money making part. The woman was driven by her financial desires, and very little held her back in that regard. However, it had been a month or two since she had enjoyed herself and time off, so she thought she would savour it at the least. The day was mostly spent playing with her dog Daisy. Other than work, and more work, she would spend most of her time with Daisy. Not that she was introverted, or withdrawn from society. Instead she had a healthy love of the spotlight. Some people even claimed it was a bit of an addiction.

"Don't wait up for mummy tonight," she said happily as she leaned over and placed a gentle kiss on the top of the dog's head. Daisy wagged her tail happily and whined a bit, but Magnolia simply scratched under her chin and then gave a small chuckle before she stood up and turned on her heel. Today she was sporting her long red curls, and the sun made it shine like a glittery fire.

Magnolia took a taxi from her apartment to the trifecta of schools. It was probably time for school to be getting out, or at least nearing that time. It wasn't the first or last time she'd dropped by the school to spirit Alana away from her work.

Stepping through the front entrance, she felt the nostalgia washing through her bones. So much time spent in the halls of the school. Too much if she was concerned. Meandering down the corridors, she would glance inside the classrooms she passed. Each one of them was still full, and the ones that weren't had closed doors and their lights off.

Finally arriving at Ms. Blackwood's room, she smiled as she took a long look at he students. Most of them were paying attention, but a few in the back were goofing off. Those were her kinds of students. A significant throw back to the time when she was in school. Pulling her phone out of her pocket she glanced at the time. It was about five minutes until the bell went off. Moving past the door to try and catch Alana's attention, she gave a grand smile.

"Let's ditch early," she mouthed out to her friend, trying to maintain her cheeky grin but keeping her lips as pronounced as she could. To try and make it easier for Alana to see what she was trying to say.

Teaching a classroom full of eight and nine, with a few ten, year olds could be a trial in and of itself most days. Luckily, Alana had the patience to handle most given situations, considering she was more adept in knowing how to handle a child than she was really their parents. That was the more difficult part of the job if anything. Being one herself, the woman couldn't necessarily blame them either. Fortunately, most of those within her class were either well-mannered or tolerable. There were only two who tended to give her trouble on days here and there, but she hoped they'd come around in being less of a brat and more of a decent member of society out in the world one day.

The last lesson for the day was on art, given that around this time, most were more than ready to go home, take a nap, or just do anything other than be at school. She'd been letting them practice with watercolors, casually walking around in between desks and glancing at their work while keeping an eye on the more notorious or curious others that might try to take a taste test of what flavor the brush or their fingers might hold. To be honest, she had some real talent in her class on the art side, something she hoped to nurture and see blossom over the years as they grew up to learn more about it.

"Very good, Kenny," she praised one of the boys, who was doing a pretty fantastic job of making a starry night with his paper. Glancing over, Alana gave a pointed look. "Arlee, please stop chewing on the handle." Why that kid was so much into biting things, she wasn't sure but was convinced they were in need of some kind of counseling or therapy since it seemed to be an anxiety symptom. "It doesn't have to be perfect and it's not being graded. Just paint whatever comes to mind."

Coming back close to the front of the room and to the door, she caught sight of something in the corner of her eye, which made her turn her head and see Mags standing there, encouraging her to duck out sooner than usual. Grinning a bit, Alana nodded and mouthed back an 'okay' then gestured with a telling of 'wait in the lobby?'

As soon as the bell had rung and everyone was out of the classroom, she checked over everything, grabbed up some papers from her desk and set them into her tote in order to carry off with her. Locking the door behind her, Alana started off to the front entrance of the school, giving a wave to a few of the other staff, and looked back the redhead's way as she came along. "Ditch early? Really?" she quizzed with a smile. "Do you see Mrs. Peterson around anywhere?"

A joke that only really Mags would get on account that algebra was one of the easier classes to skip and tuck themselves away from for the hour it lasted, mostly to go out near the sports fields to watch the guys practice or to go hang out under the bleachers with some of the other kids, an entry way to the first time she'd ever smoked a cigarette.

Seeing Alana play the perfect teacher was amusing. It wasn't like Alana did not fit the role of a molder of minds but quite the opposite. It suited her perfectly. She couldn't hold back the giggle escaping her lips though when Alana commented on the child chewing on a handle. She quickly put her hand over her mouth quickly to try and quiet herself so she wouldn't distract the learning minds.

Alana motioned for Mags to wait in the lobby, she was tempted to stay in the doorway, but pulled away and sauntered over to lobby waiting for her friend. It didn't take too long for the brunette to appear finally. "You can take on her legacy, give hope to the new generation of... Honour roll students," Magnolia snickered. There had only been one honour roll student between the two of them, but it didn't stop her from always making it plural. All of Alana's amazing accomplishments felt like Magnolia's own, that was how proud she was of her friend.

"I've finally come to steal you away from your life of monotony," she said with a wide smile that promised nothing good. Hooking her arm under Alana's she pulled the witch in with an excited squeak. "It's been too long since we've been able to cause some trouble around the city," she snickered. Magnolia was quite content to pull Alana along into any trouble she could find. In high school the two of them were dangerous together, after they got past the catty way that girls happened to get together at that age. Usually people became a little more subdued as they aged, but Magnolia bucked the idea of that. Even after Alana had her daughter, Magnolia would not let her slip into that obscurity.

"I already called Sear, she's going to look over the munchkin, she too agreed that you need a night out from being Ms. Blackwood, and Mom," she explained as she started to pull her along to leave the school and get onto the path of debauchery. "So you have no excuse to give me, hell, I'll even pay for the taxi's all around town, you'll of course owe me just a little - actually quite big shot and I'll be happy," she smirked as she gave her friend's arm a quick soft squeeze. Magnolia didn't mind playing into her selfish nature if it meant she could coax Alana out to relax even just a little bit. The fact that Alana humoured it was even more reason for her to try and spoil her friend with a good time.

"How long have you had this planned this time?" the woman mused as she walked with her outside and down the steps of the school, grinning as she glanced over to her. Normally she would argue that she had too much to do, despite it being a Friday night, but given that it was the last week of school and exams had already been had, there was little ammunition for her to fire off. Instead, she just chose to accept it and might have even agreed that she needed it. A brow rose as she mentioned Sear taking Maddy for the night, which came as something of a small surprise. Normally whenever Alana asked if she wanted to hang out with her for even a night, the woman always seemed hesitant. More time spent with her niece would be good for the both of them though.

"Did you make an itinerary?" the middle Blackwood teased as she headed off to her car to put away some things then glanced back to her. "I take it I'm driving us to the first place on the list?" she mused before looking down at herself and back to Mags. "Not exactly dressed for the occasion." As much as the 'hot for teacher' look might earn her more than a few free drinks and cat-calls, Alana wasn't so intent to be so easily picked out from the crowd by one of the kids' parents who also happened to be out needing a drink or otherwise.

Once all her things were tossed into the back, Alana slipped into the driver's side of the car and started up the engine but looking her friend's way to see just where it was she intended on having them go.

"Too long if you ask me... I laboured over rushing it or biding my time to find you unaware and pounce on you to make sure you didn't have any way out of this adventure," Magnolia said slowly, before a playful smirk curled at her lips. Following Alana to her car, Magnolia gave a hearty chuckle when the other witch asked if she had an itinerary. Although she had made a list of places they ought to go, she never made a timeline. "First place is your house," she said with a big beaming smile. "I want those black mary jane pumps you have for tonight, and you need to up the anty here too. I'm not hitting the bars with Ms. Blackwood tonight, I would rather go with Alana," she smirked while getting into the car.

Magnolia was comfortable in a pair of leggings, and a black v-neck tunic that went past her hips. Relatively tame considering her wardrobe, but she aimed to play the wing-woman tonight. There was no need to steal the spotlight right when she walked in the door. After all, Magnolia enjoyed actually earning the spotlight than being gifted with it. Yet, in the end she'd decided to go with something muted, and then poke and prod Alana into dressing up and relaxing with their main men, Jack Daniels, and Captain Morgan. Staple liqour for a night out. Even though Magnolia worked behind a bar, she had no interest in being served the fancy drinks she had to make for the patrons at Fox's Fancy. For once, she was a little more plain in her tastes.

"You should wear your blue dress, that one is always flattering on you, and oh, you should wear a choker or something similar," Mags mused as she begun to mentally catalogue all the items that Alana ought to be wearing. Shifting her weight she buckled her seatbelt, and wiggled into her seat. "How long has it been since we actually had a night out? For some reason you enjoy being a respectable mother who is responsible and all that jazz... Pfft, no fun there," she teased with a roll of her eyes. Magnolia had a limitless respect for Alana and how quickly she took to being a mother. Of course Magnolia was happy to babysit, and play the aunt, but she wasn't ever sure that she wanted to be a mother - even if it happened by surprise. Not that she had to worry about that much longer, the biological clock was finally up. Which only made Magnolia grateful that she wouldn't have to deal with the ailments of being a fertile woman.

"Now why would I ever want to do that?" Alana mused, only half teasing considering the one time she and Magnolia had gone out, it'd turned into a bit of a comedy movie with just how often everything had gone wrong from having been out of cash to not having a ride home for more than a few hours and, in the end, she was pretty sure they'd ended up crashing at some stranger's place. At least Alana had woken up on the couch instead of in the same bed as Mags and the guy who owned it. That had been a relief, though she knew it wouldn't be the last time the two of them would be asked in on some threesome or orgy.

After cranking the engine, she checked the mirrors then started out of the parking lot to head off to the house. The drive itself wasn't all that far away and it'd likely only even take her up to half an hour to get her make-up reset, change of clothes, and ensure that everything was as it needed to be since Maddy was apparently off with her aunt for the night. The lack of a dog these days made it even easier, though also reminded her of just how quiet the house became the moment she left. While Maddy had a smaller pet in her room for the time being, it was still nothing at all like having had a dog before and she was, unfortunately, allergic to cats. After freshening herself up and getting herself into the blue dress Mags had mentioned, Alana pulled on a pair of low heels and started out the door with her again.

"You'd be surprised how much fun a mom could have," she commented, not forgetting her friend's remark back in the car while glancing over to her, standing in front of a mirror to ensure her hair wasn't being too wild and untamed after some hairspray and a comb was taken to it. "Met a single dad just the other week who was new to the city and enrolling his two kids into the school. Was really cute too." But, of course, Alana didn't flirt whatsoever not only because it was on school grounds but the fact that dating another parent was twice as hard as doing anything with an entirely 'no strings attached' possibility.

Grabbing her purse, she started back out the door and to the car in order to head to whichever watering hole Magnolia might nudge them towards. Along the way, she kept the radio low and let out a low breath, as if something was weighing heavily on her mind, despite how much she was doing her best to push it all aside to some corner in the far back recess of her brain. "So let me guess, going somewhere that it's ladies' night?"

Magnolia recalled the one time they had gone out and everything seemed to go wrong with the night, at least in Alana's eyes. Magnolia was all about the opportunity of chance. Not having money for a ride home was fine. Edric was even better! That had been a very splendid night, and if Mags managed to remember a night in the sheets with a man she had met the same night it was certainly memorable. The girl wasn't stupid though, she was always prepared. A little spell protection, and herbal concoction before going out for the night kept her clean as a whistle. She also felt she had the best discretion and standards when it came to a partner, whether or not that was actually true, she always kept herself an herbal remedy, and discreet way to test if she actually wanted to exchange bodily fluids with someone. Usually it only mattered with humans, although there was the odd witch that was so single minded they forgot their protection. The rest of the races, they seemed immune from passing cooties to one another - thankfully.

"Oh don't get me wrong, your kid is a riot. The best of the bunch, and I mean it. I can't stand the little ginger that Jessica calls her child," she sneered. Jessica was a coworker, who by all means was a wonderful woman, and the child was simply four year old curious thing. However, it did not belong to Alana and therefore she had no care for it. Barely entertaining it when Jess came by for her cheque through the day when she wasn't working.

Her attention however was completely captivated when Alana mentioned the father. "You can't just leave a girl at that alone," Magnolia whined as she linked her arm in with Alana's. "Tall? Works out? Blonde? Blue eyes? Competent witch?" She listed out her ideal man for Alana. Something akin to a greek god, or at the least Adonis. Nothing less was worth her best friend's time or heart.

Pulling Alana along, they first came to a relatively new bar. It wasn't a club of any sorts. It was the first of the night of course. Besides, Magnolia didn't miss the weights on Alana's shoulders that looked like they needed to at the very least be loosened up with a drink first before they got into it. So the bar was a good starting point. Dim lighting, but a contemporary vibe. The crowd was varied. From fae to vamps, and even the sparse human.

Picking out the best table for them, she practically forced Alana to sit down in the booth before sauntering over to the bar. With her usual charm, and constant smile she ordered easy starting drinks; cranberry and vodka. Along with some tortilla chips and a creamy dip, to be delivered to the table along with a few more shots. She took the drinks, along with two shot glasses of vodka, and returned to the booth. Placing a drink, and then shot glass in front of Alana with the ease of someone who had been working in a bar for longer than she wanted to admit as it aged her. She then slid in on her side of the booth. "Shot first, and then you must tell me why you've got some gremlins on your shoulders making you huff and puff like a wolf ready to blow my house down," she ordered before she quickly downed her own shot, and gave a scrunch of her nose. No matter how long it had been behind the bar, she could never take a shot straight - at the beginning of the night at least.

"Some kind of fae actually," she started, grinning over to the other woman. "Dark hair, brown eyes, tall ish. Under six foot." As far as she could guess anyway. "I think he might be Mexican or Spanish." As she'd not much to wager that on considering it was always hard to tell where people came from, not that it mattered much. "A little lean." That was about as she could determine with having only spent a total of ten minutes with him from the initial meeting and assuring that both his kids were in a good place when it came to education.

As they came along to the bar and she was urged to the booth, Alana plopped down and set her tote aside, crossing her legs while taking a quick sweep around the place. Nothing too loud or obnoxious thus far and already she'd caught more than a few glances both her and Mags' way. Looking back to her friend as she returned with the drinks, the woman bobbed her brows up as the shot was handed off. She'd barely even eaten anything today and it seemed that the other witch was well and intent on having them get under way with being at least somewhat inebriated. Taking the shot in hand, Alana gave a nod in gesture that fair was fair then knocked back the fingers of vodka. Setting the glass down as she made a face while it bit down along her throat, the woman looked back the other's way with a knowing gaze.

"It's just been a long week." Okay, Mags probably wasn't going to buy that really. "Month." Nor that either. "Year." Only halfway through it and already she was feeling like it'd be another decade before she'd feel like she could garner herself any peace. "Just everything with Maddy and Val and Sear and now Gabe and..." She shook her head, not really wanting to get into it, especially on the last person. Already she'd been driving herself somewhat nuts concerning that man and it seemed to do little good considering what he had and was getting himself into these days. Still not quite something she had ever imagined for him but since when she did even know anything anymore lately?

Reaching over to take the other drink to start working on as a waiter set down a basket of chips and dip, Alana shook her head and swiped her hair out from her face. "People just being ridiculous, as usual." That was all really, including herself. "Just when I think I don't have to deal with certain things anymore, they come right back to bite me in the ass."

Taking a chip with a dab of dip on it, the witch bobbed her brows in a 'go figure' fashion and took a bite to chew on the appetizer.

Magnolia pursed her lips when she said he was a fae, that already put up some bad points on his end. Anything not witch put a bad taste in her mouth - at least for long term opportunities when it came to Alana. Ultimately, anything had a good taste in Magnolia's mouth. A little lean could work, sometimes those men had the stamina of the gods, but the information was just too slim for Magnolia to approve. Besides, considering he was under six foot it just wouldn't end up working out.

After having taken her shot, she sipped at her drink. There was a discriminating brow raise when she tried to play off the stress weighing on her as just a week, or a month, or even a year. Something else was getting to Alana, and it frustrated Magnolia because she deserved it a little easier at least. "Alright, tackling one thing at a time we're going to look at your spawnling," she said while clearing her throat. "That little one is smarter than she ought to be at that age. She's clearly taking after you. Now, I say I'll take her out every Wednesday after school. No I'm not keeping her for the night, I do gotta work," she grinned calming a fear she knew Alana might have considering Magnolia happened to let the girl stay up later than she should and it would be a hard thing actually watching over the kid while at work. Daisy was a good dog, but she wasn't the dog from Peter Pan.

"Wednesdays, will be the day I take her and wear her out. Make her run in circles, or, give her someone that isn't Mommy to complain to. She's probably got her own worries now, and I know you wanna be the one she goes to, you will be soon enough once she realizes she's got the best Momma ever. I can at least soothe that out, and maybe encourage her to see you as the cool mom. Just do not wear mom-jeans. I will excommunicate you," her last statement was honest, and direct. She glared at Alana with her full intent of holding her to it as well. In truth, all of her words she knew wouldn't bring any relief to her friend, it was still going to bother her, and Mags knew that. However, if she could at least bring out a smile, or have Alana get so fed up with Magnolia's teasing that she gave back some of what she got, then it was worth it.

"Now your sisters. Little one is doing good isn't she? Older one, ehn, she'll sort herself out, always has. But Saoirse, she's got the pack around her, I thought her paintings were selling well too?" She asked with an arch of her brow.

The subject of Gabriel though, that was a little harder to approach. Even Magnolia worried a little about him. She wasn't nearly as close to him as Alana either. Childhood friend turned vampire, turned Calpulli crony, turned Quetzala pet? It was a good deal of fuckery that Magnolia would need a few more shots to tackle. The waitress that had given them their chips and dip was passing by again so Magnolia asked for another two rounds of shots to be brought to the table before she turned her attention to Alana again and started eating the chips and dip.

Her brows rose as Magnolia offered to take Maddy every Wednesday, if only to likely give Alana something of a break from her typical mom routine, not that she minded but it was something she'd have to see if the girl would even be up for. "I'll see what she says," she told her with a soft smile. "Sometimes she stays after school for her art club those days." And she reasoned that, as she got older, she'd likely get into more and more of those sorts of things- perhaps academics or drama or some kind of sport. Already she enjoyed volley ball. "No mom-jeans. Promise."

Grinning a bit, Alana took hold of her drink for a casual sip and glanced over, watching the gathered people within the dive and seeing if she recognized any faces, be it from Sear's pack to a certain unruly djinn who liked to crash on either of their couches to just anyone she knew from the school or coven. Despite the big city, it sometimes felt as a very small world. Turning back to look to her friend as she went on about her sisters, the witch took up another chip to dunk into the dip. "Mmm.. Here and there," she said with a nod. "And her friend Oren suggested a kind of project for us both that helps out animal shelters as well as get our business out there." All in all, a win/win for those involved. "Sear's still dealing with the loss of the Ludos... Kade was our cousin after all." Not to mention alpha and something of a mentor when it came to having her learn about her newly given 'gift.' Still, Alana felt a bit scorned in the fact that it'd been Kaiden who had turned her former witch of a sister. "But she does still have Dylan and Dawson..."

Which not many others could claim to have such close, good friends among a former pack, especially ones that didn't go around causing trouble.

As another set of rounds was order, Alana glanced back to Mags knowingly as she munched on another chip and wiped at the corner of her mouth. "Is there something you need to get off your chest?" she quizzed, knowing full well the in-take of all this alcohol couldn't just be on her behalf. "Upset that guy last week hasn't called back yet? Or did he?"

It was hard keeping up with any of that in general, even with near nightly texts or calls between them on keeping up with the day to day mess that was their lives.

"How's the club been? Still hanging on with the new York running it?" she quizzed curiously, reaching over for another chip before she'd settle for taking the second shot. With both York sisters gone and one of their would be daughters in place of them, the strip club didn't seem the same in the few times she'd visited to come pick up Mags for a hang out or to pile a drunk Jake into the car to drop off home. Not that it was any less fanciful or foxy with its name sake so much as just that either York had a certain air about them that also seemed to seep into the place. The daughter, by blood or not, just didn't seem to hold that same level of exuberance, though nothing against her.

"Doesn't have to be Wednesday, but any day that works through the week to give you some breathing room," Magnolia commented slowly with a small smile. Happy that the little girl was joining clubs already. Sure it had never been Magnolia's thing but the little girl was taking after her mother brilliantly. Chomping at her chip with dip on it she listened patiently to Alana as the woman expressed her worries about Saoirse. Hearing about the possibility of helping out the business and animal shelters however made Magnolia arch a brow slowly. It sounded like a promising venture, but it was the end of the promising news.

There had always been that unspoken sad feeling when it came to talking directly about the youngest Blackwood's change. Magnolia gave a tight lipped smile as Alana mentioned Dylan and Dawson. "It's like you as the middle kid took on the role of having to look after the eldest and the youngest. Do you ever just let things go as they will?" She asked as she played with the straw in her drink. "I couldn't imagine having a sister worrying about me half as much as you do with yours, and you already have a fulltime day job," she shuddered with a shake of her head, and a slight teasing chuckle.

When Alana skillfully turned the conversation back onto her she gave a small snicker. "Jeremy was old news two days after he came 'round. However, his sister was delicious for a bit," she smirked as she took a healthy sip of her drink finishing it off. "But no, I'm a free woman at the moment. Spreading my wings," she commented slowly before she raised her arms and extended them out to mimic the picture of wings. It was more of a well timed stretch, but suited what she was trying to do regardless.

"Work is just fine," she said softly as she pulled her arms back in and gave a sigh. "Gah, who am I kidding? It's so dreary, since the sisters left it's like their heir doesn't care cause she can't fluff her wings up and show mommy," she sneered. In the beginning it had been only a simple job to get her money, but over the years she found that she enjoyed it, and even more liked how she felt when she worked hard. "I want to buy the place up from her and pull it back into what it used to be," she admitted quickly. It slipped out of her lips even before she gave it an honest consideration. The alcohol was starting to hinder her inhibitions. Or at the least, the ones she actually had. Magnolia had never given honest thought about buying the place, but she didn't want to let it go to waste.

"Of course I do," Alana admitted as she shrugged, taking her drink in hand, "but I've also known better than to just let whatever happen happen." And as for the whole 'momming thing', it was apparently just second nature to her, which played into the way she simply took her unexpected pregnancy in stride. Seemed to have worked out as best as it could so far, despite all the terrible nightmares that had thrown more than her world upside down. She knew she wasn't alone though in her plight of attempting to keep the world from being a less scary place than it actually was to her daughter. "Blame that on our mother who was way more worried about what new power we were going to crop up with. When Saoirse was just six or seven, I remember mom constantly asking her if she'd felt anything yet to the point where Sear had a damn emotional breakdown and stayed locked in her room for two days."

No one could blame her really though, not with all that. The Blackwood mom was certainly something else all together and now that she'd moved off elsewhere, hopefully faaaar on the other side of the country, Alana was glad that they no longer had to deal with that kind of overbearing presence.

A playful roll of her eyes came as Mags mentioned the man and his sister. Alana wasn't surprised in the least and just shook her head lightly as she took a sip from her glass before moving on to another chip with dip. "I thought you were always a free woman spreading her wings?" the brunette teased as wiped at the side of her mouth to ensure there were no crumbs there. As Mags went on to speak about work though, the Blackwood's brows bobbed up in wonder. "Dreary? Really?" Seemed like a specific word to use for such a place that had always been lively and the like. Maybe the place just didn't have the same spunk as the York sisters themselves. Those were some big shoes to fill after all. "I don't think it'd be up to her really and that place is likely worth more than what even we could afford together."

But maybe the Yorks would return and jazz it back up, who was to say?

"Ever since Jake's favorite bar shut down, he's been spending more time there. Pretty sure the amount of money he's thrown down for booze and lap dances in the place could have likely bought himself a luxury car by now," the woman mused as she took another swallow of her drink. Jake, of course, wouldn't really be caught dead driving such a thing unless it was on a joy ride to make mayhem in the city or to crash it out into the ocean for shits and giggles. "Sear's going on a date this week."

Grinning a bit to herself, Alana set aside her glass and looked over to hail a waiter as he was passing by. He stopped and set his hands behind his back, smiling down to them both. "What can I get for you ladies?"

"A couple of sliders and some potato skins if you don't mind," the witch answered as she glanced over to Magnolia to see if she was good with the order. At this rate, they were going to need more than just some chips and dip to get them through their catch-up conversation.

Magnolia gave a small smirk as she mentioned knowing better. Of course Alana would say something like that, but she knew at the same time that her friend wasn't wrong. Their familial relations were always vastly different - save for the role of father, absentee was pretty solid on the both of them. "Poor little Saoirse," she remarked softly as she looked down at her drink. She empathized with the youngest, as her powers had come in late, not anything near six or seven. Only her father scoffed at the ineptitude of his daughter, her mother just reassured her that the world always saved the best for last.

"Well, I am," she replied about her wings. "I just need to have like two pairs of wings. One for close combat, the other set for long distance," she smirked with a lick of her lips. The charming smile playing on her lips died quickly though as Alana reminded her not just one but two, or even all of her family could fill the bill completely to buy a place like the Fox's Fancy. Which disappointed her deeply. "Don't kill a girl's dreams too quickly now, isn't letting kidlets dream part of your job, can't you extend that to adults, namely me," she said with a slight whine before she gave a chuckle and shook her head. The waiter came by, and Alana ordered everything Magnolia was craving at the moment. "Six more shots too, then a couple glasses of long islands," she commented with a deadlier smirk than she'd had all evening.

There wasn't an ounce inside of her that didn't want to hear about Saoirse's date, and the prospective teasing on the youngest Blackwood. "A date? With who? Oren?" She asked quickly while she took her half empty drink in her hand and let a slip quench her thirst. Her brow arched as she continued to think of Saoirse and Oren, the pair was attractive together. If Saoirse wasn't someone she had known most of her life, and her best friend's sister, the redhead would've likely been on her radar as well as Oren. His curly hair made him delicious to look at but she always saw him like a clumsy little puppy. Too innocent for the hawk that Magnolia considered herself. Didn't stop her from enjoying the view though.

"I thought that was what was going on with Jake. I mean I enjoy taking my friend's money as much as the next gal, but even I pity the money he's put in my pocket enough to give him a good free couple drinks each night," she said with a small chuckle. If a patron was as loyal as that she couldn't in good conscience charge them the average rate. Considering the profit margin on the drinks, it didn't kill them to give a couple free drinks a night. Especially if the patron was already getting a dance, two, or even three in Jake's case.

"He does have a certain charm to him though, the girls love how hopeless he is," she admitted with a small snicker. "On occasion I've thought about hiring him to make a couple of the lady patrons happier, but... I think it wouldn't last that long, and I like him as a patron rather than a coworker," she chuckled again.

The brunette gave her a knowing look. There was a large difference between fanning the flames of a kid's dreams and standing to face the crushing weight of reality. Of course, Alana wasn't one to be a pessimist but, as of late, she wasn't exactly her typical optimistic self either- more so choosing to stick to the middle in which she kept any remarks to herself. After the orders were placed and Magnolia asked about Saoirse's date, Alana did her best not to choke on a laugh that had threatened to start. "What? No. Neither one of them have still gotten the sense or courage yet to ask the other out to that kind of thing, though Sear did invite him out to the gallery showing for next week."

So that was maybe something. No doubt the guy would show but Alana was curious as to how that'd even go. Shaking her head, she took another chip with dip to snack on while glancing back to her friend. "It's with someone she met during one of her tarot card readings. From as much as I got from her texts, it's an older guy and a vampire." Both of which had been something of a surprise to her when it came to her younger sister but at least the redhead was out there and taking risks, right? "Supposed to happen this Friday."

Thus, she was holding her breath to see how it'd go.

"Oh please." The witch gave a slight roll of her eyes as she shook her head. Whatever Jake decided to do with his money was his own adult decisions. Even if he did act like some careless teen that was only interested in drinking and screwing around, with a few fights here and there, the man was still older than most of the people she knew combined. When Mags mentioned him making it as an entertainer though, she was glad she hadn't been drinking anything to choke on because that surely would've been the death of her. "Oh god, Jake as a stripper or dancer?" She could totally see it right now and to be honest... "He'd probably love it and enjoy doing it but wouldn't last a month.. even a couple of weeks actually." Because either he'd get too bored and start to push boundaries with people ooooor... he'd just get into fights with the male customers that often enough got too drunk and therefore handsy with the ladies. "Goddess, now I can't get the image of him dancing in just jeans out of my head. Thanks."

Because she really needed that right now. Laughing a bit to herself, she took a swallow from her drink and looked over as their shots and long islands were delivered, though the food itself would take a little longer to get out to them. Looking back to Mags, the brunette eyed her, taking another chip in hand. "Do you know that I had to go pick him up just last week because of him having passed out at the bar again? Was on Christian's shift." And the poor guy had a few other... things to deal with apart from a very drunk Jake. "As well as get some bloodstains out of the carpet. Like.. a lot." To the point where she had a feeling it was more than just a fist fight that had happened but since she hadn't seen who had gotten the brunt end of that scuffle, it was hard to say. "At nearly three in the morning."

Just how she liked to spend her nights really. ... But not.

Magnolia coudn't help but give a little snicker as she explained that Oren and Saoirse still had yet to realize their innocent love for one another. Perhaps it was for the best that Saoirse did go out with someone else, it meant that Oren would realize that she was being taken away. Or perhaps nothing would happen. Except for Saoirse getting a nice night out. Either way all options were agreeable with Magnolia. "Date looking over art... Not my choice of first date but hey, I don't think I really date... I don't think drinks and then a tour of my bedroom is a date really," she chuckled with a shake of her head.

Hearing that it was a vampire though made Magnolia purse her lips slowly. The girl was a wolf, but young, so when it came to a vampire she could probably defend herself adequately, however Mags was still worried for the redhead. "Should we sneak and follow them?" she asked with a slow arch of her brow. "We could have some charms and hexes in our pockets and if it starts to go south, boom we save her," Magnolia smirked. The interest to follow the girl was genuine, but only because she knew how interesting the night would be instead of genuine concern. In the end she figured that Saoirse could probably do more than just hold her own against a vampire regardless of age. If that was foolish thinking or the truth, Mags didn't care.

"Let's be honest, Jake ain't that bad of a dancer," she paused holding her laughter for only a moment. "When you're just as liquored up as him," she smirked and took a sip. "You know, you should go to Jake every once in a while, when you're wound up too tight," she winked only to break off into giggles. "I mean for what he lacks in sobriety he does make up for in other places," she smirked and then took a sip of her drink.

The passed out at the bar scenario was one Magnolia knew so well it was just another night at work. "Yeah, Christian was a bit concerned about him. And calling you," she paused with a small chuckle. "Sorry but I threatened the rest that if they call me on my days off about Jake it better be because he's dying, otherwise I'd hex them the next chance I got," she said with a shrug. "I wonder... You know there could be a business opportunity, pick up the passed out drunks at the end of the night, and toss em home," she mulled over as she grabbed a slider and happily ate away at it nibble by nibble. The booze had already begun mulling in her system, so the small tiny bites were mildly amusing.
